Highs: Another nice model from Minichamps. In my opinion this car boasts 3 particular highlights. First, the engine is very nicely done, with wiring, accurate colors and textures. Second, the interior is outstanding...carpeting, great steering wheel, fully detailed console and gauge cluster, and fantastic replication of the wood-grain dashboard. Third, the light fixtures all around are extremely well done.
Lows: The only part of the interior that isn't great are the seats, which are made of hard black plastic. And the doors have a somewhat clumsy springing mechanism, and a little too much vertical wobble when open. Also, I could swear the headlights on my particular model are pointing slightly upwards!
Summary: The subject matter falls into the "either you're interested in 1970's BMWs or you aren't" category. If you are, Minichamps' diecast is a fine replica of a historically significant car for BMW. Body integrity is excellent, fine details are abundant, and paintwork is smooth and flawless. They're not easy to find, though, so you may have to do some digging.
