Resellers: Internet Retailers
www.cavallinomodels.com (excellent selection of rare UT, Burago, and Mattel Ferraris including the hard-to-find F355...send Rita an email, she'll take care of you)
www.scale18.com (Kevin and Irene are nice, easy to work with, great service. Site also features an excellent classified section and message board)
www.designsinm.com (Designs in Motion carries an excellent supply of 1:18 and 1:43 models. Call and speak to Greg, good guy, knows his stuff, great personal service)
www.gtmodels.co.uk Andrew Slater's diecast site. Andrew is a good guy, and a diecast enthusiast. I've not bought anything from him yet, just because of the geographical separation, but I know he comes highly recommended on message boards I've frequented.
If you've bought from any of these vendors and not been treated properly, please let us know - this list is all about endorsing those vendors who make the diecast hobby a great place to be, and excluding those who do not appreciate their customers or good service.
1:18 Diecast Resellers: Recommended Ebay Sellers
These sellers can all be relied up for fast shipping (usually within 2 days of payment), good communication, and an overall pleasant transaction. If they're on this list, it's because I have bought from them before (some more than once) and feel comfortable recommending them to other collectors:
Brian, based out of California, usually carries a wide variety of high-quality 1:18 names like Lane, Kyosho, Autoart, and Minichamps.
UPDATE: HOLY CRAP, this guy needs to be avoided like the plague. Talk about letting your service go down the toilet...I've never seen somebody rack up so many negatives in such a short period of time. STAY AWAY!!!
Marvan is in New Jersey, but don't hold that against him! He's a collector who takes great care of his models, and stands behind each sale 100%. A pleasure to buy from.
Ed Slager is a very reliable seller. I had a problem (factory defect) with an item, he didn't hesitate to help me with it, and got it replaced. A+ Service.
Terry is a good seller, I've bought from him with good success. Friendly communication, fast shipping...what more could you want?
This is Mike's Racing & Diecast. If you look at the feedback record, you'll see 142 negatives. But look again, and you'll see those are against over 56,000 positives. Mike does a massive business on ebay, very large volume, and that negative-positive ratio equal 2 negatives out of every 1000 customers. Not too bad. Plus, many of those came last year, when Mike's shop was destroyed in a fire (I saw photographs of it, it was pretty awful), and his ebay shipments were delayed or cancelled to many people. I've bought from him numerous times, with no problem, and he always ships quickly and responds to emails quickly.
www.diecastxchange.com - Great site with member forums, reviews, classifieds. One of my favorite hangouts.
www.diecast.org (a feature of Legacy Diecast, which also sells a good selection of 1:18 models)
http://turn.to/lugnutz (an excellent source for reviews and photos)
http://www.iol.ie/~donohoer/index.html (Ronan Donohoe's site...his collection is amazing, with many of his cars reviewed on the site)
If you'd like to add a link on your site, to my site, here's a banner you can use...and thank you for the thought!
