Frequently Asked Questions:
1) How do I know you won't steal my money, and run away to Switzerland and buy a chateau in the Alps with Llamas and sheep and a secret bank account?
That's a good question, because I do like Llamas. The truth is, most of the people that come to my site originate from the Diecast Pub, Scale18 message board, or the Diecast Zone. If I did take someone's money, all you'd have to do is mention it on any of those boards, and I'd never sell another car here, or be allowed to comfortably visit those sites. And believe me, I'm in this hobby for the fun of collecting cars, not the money. Plus, if you pay by Paypal with a Credit Card, you'll have the protection of your Credit Card company.
2) Why do you ship with the Postal Service rather than UPS?
This is only my experience, but UPS has a habit of using packages the same way newly married couples use tin cans tied to the bumper of a car. I've just had too many damaged items, and boxes that looked like they came directly from Baghdad, to continue using UPS.
3) Can I get tracking for my package?
Sure you can! You have the option of purchasing any of the shipment services offered by the USPS, including Signature Confirmation, Delivery Confirmation, and Tracking. Note that Tracking is only available with Express Mail, Global Express Mail, and Global Express Guaranteed. In my experience, Signature Confirmation is usually adequate for all but the most valuable, expensive items.
4) What if I don't like the model after I buy it?
I'll happily refund your purchase price if you decide you don't like the model. You'll only have to pay for return shipping. Considering how many detailed photos I have on my site of each car, plus the detailed reviews, I'm figuring most people will know beforehand whether they're going to like the model or not. If the model is damaged, I will refund your full purchase price plus shipping.
5) Why don't you sell more of your models?
I know what you're after...you want my UT Turbo S, don't you? Well you're not getting it!!!.......... just kidding! Seriously, this is a hobby for me, and I only have so much room in my display cabinet. So when I buy new models, something has to get sold to make room. Fortunately, unless I run out of money (or my wife attempts to kill me with a machete for taking up so much room on diecasts), I'll only have to sell a few at a time!
6) Do you take credit cards directly?
Sorry, I do not. Paypal is your best bet if you want to use a credit card. It's easy, and very convenient!
7) Why do you like Lorenzo Lamas so much? Didn't his acting career go down the tubes years ago?
Go back and read queston 1 again...it's not Lorenzo LAMAS...it's Llamas, as in the big furry animals with long ears.
8) Why don't you sell your models for really low prices, so we can all fill up our collection with cool stuff from your site? Are you sure that UT BMW Yokohama shouldn't cost $9.99? Would you take $20, shipping included?
As you may have noticed, there are no pop-ups or ad banners cluttering up this site. Nothing but cars, cars, and more cars, for your viewing and reading pleasure. This site is commercially hosted, at my own expense, and I don't ask for donations or assistance. All of the content is free. Additionally, I've lately found myself buying models just for the purpose of doing comparisons that I know collectors want to see (Kyosho 308 vs. Kyosho 308 QV, and upcoming Autoart Countach vs. Kyosho Countach), all at my own expense. I do it for the enjoyment, and because I know there are many of you who will benefit from the work...the Kyosho vs. Autoart Countach comparison will probably help many people make smart buying decisions. How do I afford it? By buying and selling models for profit...not a lot of profit, but enough that my wife leaves me alone and doesn't question all the boxes that the UPS man leaves in our carport, and the site pays for itself.
9) I still don't trust you....something tells me you're just a big, stinky, lousy, money-grubbing thief. What do you think of that?!
Really, I can understand your caution. So head on over to ebay, and pull up the feedback history for ebay id: bcgator1. You'll see I have 233 positive feedbacks, and zero negatives. I have to work hard to maintain that record, too. If I didn't cheat all those people, why would I cheat you?
